Lewis H. Millett, 81, of Aledo, Illinois died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Genesis West in Davenport, Iowa. Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Reynolds Cemetery where graveside military rites will be conducted. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Fippinger’s. Lewis was born October 17, 1933 in rural Reynolds, Illinois to George and Nellie Dellitt Millett. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1951. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Japan from 1956 to 1958. On May 15, 1960, he was united in marriage to Janet S. Reed at the Center Presbyterian Church in Seaton. He began his telephone career with Western Illinois Telephone Company as lineman/installer. He retired from CONTEL as an engineer after 38 years. Lewis was a member of the CONTEL Organization, ITPA Illinois Association and the NRA. He was an avid reader, enjoyed hunting and fishing, working in the yard and gardening. He especially enjoyed being with his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities. Lewis is survived by his wife, Janet; one daughter, Kim and her husband, Mike McCutchan; one son, Greg Millett, all of Aledo; two grandchildren, John and Kevin McCutchan of Aledo; one sister-in-law, Doris Millett of Aledo; one brother-in-law, Lyle (Judy) Reed of Burlington, Iowa; one cousin, Judy McKinley of Milan, IL; nephews, Robert and Mike Millett. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill and Richard Millett and one sister-in-law, Donna Millett.

He enjoyed putting together model ships, hunting, fishing, and being with his family and grandchildren. Juli was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She was employed as a customer service representative at Modern Woodmen of America for many years, retiring in 2009. Juli enjoyed decorating the house, especially for holidays, gardening and flowers. Skip was born August 5, 1961, in Rock Island, Illinois to Thomas and Joan Morlan Bush. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1979. Skip married Lee Ann Hennenfent. He later married Wendy Mason in Aledo, Illinois on June 2, 1990. He was employed in the agriculture industry at Harney Morgan, Case IH and Empire, all in Aledo for several years. Skip was later employed at Pioneer Seed Company. Most recently, he joined his mother in the operation of the Almond Hut. His memberships include the Center Presbyterian Church in Seaton where he was a member of the session, a trustee of the Candor Cemetery Board, Pope River Church trustee and a NRA member. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors, antique mower restoration and small engine repair. Survivors include his wife, Wendy, one daughter, Madison Bush of Aledo, two sons, Brenton (Nina) Bush of Dunlap, IL, Mason Bush of Dekalb, IL, 1 grandson, Noah, his mother, Joan Bush of Aledo, a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom.

Bonynge October 12, 1968 in Aledo. He died in 2010. She was employed as a secretary for Dr. Wilbur A. Miller, M.D. and Gary Olson DDS, retiring in January 1988. She was a member of the Hamlet-Perryton Presbyterian Church, Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary, Mercer County YMCA, Mercer County Senior Center, AARP, American Cancer Society and the Christian Women’s Club. She is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest (Olene) Chard of Carmichael, CA; Allan (Kate) Chard of LaGrange Park, IL; Randy Chard of Aledo, IL; 2 grandchildren, Christopher Holmes of Sacramento, CA and Jon (Amy) Holmes of Fair Oaks, CA; 2 great grandchildren, Jeshua and Grace Holmes of Fair Oaks, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.

Anna Rose was a homemaker and was previously employed as a Rio telephone operator for several years. She was a cook at the Rio grade school, the Woodhull Plaza, and at her Uncle Butch’s Restaurant in Rio. She was a member of Rio Presbyterian Church and the Service Guild. Anna Rose enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her taffy apples, divinity and fudge. Survivors include three daughters, Melodee (Gene) Gibson of Dahinda, IL; Sherri (Curtis) Pitman of Rio; Penny (Gary) Peterson of Oneida; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; one sister, Della Jean (Jack) Foster of Oneida; two brothers, Cletus (Joyce) Devlin of New Windsor; Darrel (Martha) Devlin of Galesburg; sister-in-law, Bessie Devlin of Galesburg; brother-in-law, Roy (Sally) Rednour of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews. Genevieve began her schooling in Rock Island, Illinois and graduated from Woodhull High School in 1934. She moved to Chicago in 1935 where she graduated from the Augustana School of Infant Nursing. She was employed in the Chicago area for three years caring for newborn infants. She was married to John McVeigh in 1942. He died in 1994. Survivors include one daughter, Julie Saenz of Modesto, CA; two grandchildren, Derek Saenz and Kristen Schlie; two great grandchildren, Avery and Cameron. Her parents, husband, one son, Robert preceded her in death.

She was a former member of the Kewanee Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidery and especially being with her family. She was born September 2, 1920 in Mannon, IL to Charles and Florence Baugues Moseley. She graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Rock Island. Marcella married Arthur Ryan on September 6, 1956. He died in 1975. She later married Clyde L. “Pat” Malone on September 23, 1982 in Aledo. He died April 26, 2013. Marcella was employed at JI Case in the clerical department for 27 years. She assisted her husband, Arthur in the operation of the family farm and later was a cashier for Lane Hyett Auction Company. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Marcella was a very special caregiver for her family. Survivors include two sisters, Charlotte Doonan of Moline, Janet Likely of Milan, two brothers, Curtis (Beverly) Moseley of Detroit, Michigan, Cletus (Sandy) Moseley of Davenport, IA, sister-in-law, Loretta Moseley of Illinois City, several nieces and nephews. He died May 29, 2013. Nan was a registered nurse at the Braddock, PA hospital and also did home healthcare. After moving to the Quad Cities, Nan worked at Bridgeway in Galesburg and John Deere Health Insurance in Moline. She was currently employed at UnitedHealth Care Optum in Moline. She enjoyed traveling and being with her family. She attended Blackhawk Area Special Education Center through the AlWood school District. She was baptized in the Catholic faith at St. Francis Medical Center. McKenzie enjoyed going to school, balloons, Disney, music and bubbles. He died November 17, 1979. Norma was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of the family farm. She was employed as a cashier at Jumer’s in Galesburg and The Homestead in Woodhull, retiring in 2008. She was also employed at Pioneer in Woodhull. For many years, she was a leader at the Henry County Roughriders 4H Club. Survivors include one daughter, Vickie (Al) Hayden of Dahinda, IL, two sons, Don (Evelyn) Stroud and Terry Stroud, all of Woodhull, two grandchildren, Heather (Andy) Galbreath of Galesburg and Amy (Pete) Spencer of Edmond, OK, 4 great grandchildren, Hayden and Aubrey Galbreath, Eileen and Elliot Spencer, nieces and nephews.
